I didn't see an 'intro' thread. If there is, feel free to merge threads, if so able.

Just thought I'd take a brief moment to say hello to all of my kinnies. :D

I am Barangol. Brown cloak, in the Sindarin tongue. Though lately my cloak and garb has been more of a navy color.

But no matter. I still have my brown cloak to blend into the wilderness as so needed.

I am currently level 23, pushing close to 24.

Though this is a new character for me, on a new server, I have been playing for quite some time now.

If anyone needs anything at all, I am more than happy to be of assistance.

Well met everyone,

And may the Valar guide your way.

Hey Barangol - I'll throw you a "hello" back! :)

An intro thread is good idea, now that we're seeing more folk lately, and new faces are showing up on the kin-page. I'll pin it to the top, and change the title.

As some of you know, and some may not, I'm Oaric (aka Dan), founder of this merry band of misfits. I came to Laurelin from Vilya, where I had a lvl 65 guard and a slew of alts. I've been playing Lotro for... well, pushing two years now in February. Came over to Laurelin when the EU servers migrated, as I couldn't stand seeing out-of-context names. Even though I had to start over, it was totally worth it. Really like the new server, and I really like the group of friends this kinship has brought together so far. I really look forward to logging on every night, and never want for something to do or people to do it with.

See ya in-game!

Greetings! Well met! or as the elves say Maggys Oven and Sweaty melons!

My name is Dinkum Tanglepike, hobbit guard of the Shire *waves happily* (Also known as Taralom the elven hunter and Bofwel dwarven guard)
I moved to Laurelin when the great migration happened from Landroval in search of RP and for folk who knew what a biscuit was and didnt refer to it as cookies *makes a face*
I joined a small kin of fellow countrymen (Aussies...youd be very surprised how hard it is finding other Aussies) and the four of us (Aegy, Tippsie, Trubador and myself) have been roaming the countryside since. Then we were courteously invited *gulps as Oaric sharpens his battle axe* courteously invited to join The Iron Axes, so after a quick discussion, much pummeling of fists, a scrum and a vote we decided to throw in our lot.
I am looking forward to fun frolics and food!!
So lock up your pantrys, bury the jam in the back garden and hide the ale!!
And a big thank you for letting us into your kin......youll be sorrrrry muhahahahaha

Did someone say there was free beer?

Tippsie here, another Australian. You really should be a little careful about who you let in this Kin.

But seriously, Ive also come from Landroval and have been hanging out in Laurelin with the very few fellow Australians.

Im in GMT+10 (+11 with Daylight savings) and am often playing in the evenings. Im always willing to drop want I'm doing for a bit of roleplaying or anything else involving the 'multi' part of MMORPG.

I love the music system and have *lots and lots* of converted lore-friendly music, and I am always looking for people to play multi-part tunes. Dinkum can tell you how annoying that can be.

So, Dwarf, this expedition is leaving soon, right?
You know, roads are full of brigands lately. I know how to pass unnoticed under a robber's nose, and I see dangers farther than you do, since I'm taller. I'm the one you need fo scouting the way.
I was looking for an expedition, and we can be of mutual help. Where are you going? Rivendell? That's where I'm going too, what a coincidence!
I don't like Bree anymore, or maybe it's Bree that doesn't like me.
No no, nothing serious, just a little accident involving the daughter of a bartender and a big misunderstanding.

My credentials?
Well, I come from Long Lake, near Dale, I worked with your cousins from the Lonely Mountain and my service was quite appreciated, untill that accident with the wife of... well anyway, doesn't matter.
Did I tell you that I've allready been in Rivendell? You'll need someone who knows the path. I can provide food on my own, and I'll cost you just a few pints of good ale.
Are there any ladyes in the expedition?
Very good, I'm aboard, thank you.

Ah, by the way, while we're getting ready, should come a big fat man, with a big fat sword, asking of Vemal... that's not me. It's someone who has being using my identity and caused some troubles.. it's not me at all.

Hello everybody, and thank you for recuiting me.
I have my main character (Dajo) in another kin, since I'm European and I need different raid-hours from yours, but I was looking for someone to roleplay with, and I hope we'll have some fun.
Feel free to tell my alt too, should you need anything, he's quite a good swordcrafter.
Now there's some take delight in the carriages a rolling
and others take delight in the hurling and the bowling
but I take delight in the juice of the barley
and courting pretty fair maids in the morning bright and early.

Hi I'm Aeglon,

Firstly, I'm very happy to be a member of the Iron Axes, I really look forward to running some content with you all.

As Taralom stated earlier, I've been on Laurelin for more than 4 years now. I started playing when I was living in Germany, so that should explain how I landed on a European server.

My alts are: Pallano, Ilenya, and Aeguilon my warden who I'll bring into the fold next chance I get.

That's about it, I've had quite a busy weekend, and was unable to get much play time, that will change this week I hope.

See you all in game, and yell if you need any help.

Aeglon

A run-in with Butterman and his .. err... robust... daughters? Aye? *Laughs*

But yes, we head east. Rivendell is what we seek first, but our road takes us south from there, though we know not the way very well. A scout such as yourself, no lest a tall one *smiles*, will prove useful on the road. After we've found the hidden refuge of Imladris, we'll scout our path south towards the ruined Elf-lands of Eregion... Our keeper of runes, Arskald, has told us of a Valley of Giants, and a hidden path that goes over the broken mountains and hills of that area and towards the south. That is what we seek, though many giants may stand between us and that south road.

Heya Vemal, and welcome aboard! As you'll probably see, our presence during the day (i.e., east US daytime, European peak time) is growing, and there are a number of folk playing during that time who should be keen on RPing/doing whatever. Most of the kinship campaign storyline will be done during EST evenings, so that might be rough for ya - i.e., 10 pm est, or 3 am gmt. But we can figure something out to keep you involved if you can't make the events (i.e., rp here, or through in-game mail, have some of the day-people do side events related to the storyline.. wait, that's a good idea. Mathfield! Get on it!)

Aeglon, welcome to the page! I've been especially entertained by your mates and their instrument throwing *eyes the hobbits as they creep closer to the keg.* We should try another one of those skirmish runs again soon, though I've sworn an oath to Githlena that I'd tank something for her first. And when a lady with a dress like that asks you to do something, you don't question, you just smile, nod your head, and go where she points. "Charge that mob of eight level 75 uruk-hai? Ok!" :)

I have played for almost 4 years now and I am still enjoying the game immensly! So much to do, so little time. :)
I also rp alot and love the music , so there is a good chance to bump into me at concerts, both planned and inpromptu ones.
If anyone needs anything, just send me a tell. Woodworking and porting being my specialties. Fly Air Ido! ;)

Hello guys!

I'm Nerathiel and have been playing lotro on and off for about three years. I always seem to come back and leave again partially based on wanting to find something better and perhaps new/more fun. However, after having joined the Iron axes i must say i haven't felt so much at home in a kinship as i do now.

And i definately intend to stay!

Weel some o' ye hae seen me kickin' aboot an' some others o' ye micht e'en hae understood what I hae been sayin' an' that there be a fair achievement!.

I be Khazgur Splinterstone o' the Grey Mountains, a keeper o' runic lore fer a bittie now. I hae left wi' me kinsman Raznir far the mountains on the murmer o' Khazad-Dum bein' explored ance mair. T'is said that much o' the lore o' the longfathers o' auld micht be found deep in that place still an' by flame an' a wrath o' the lightnin' that seethes in the sky may the foul Orcs be driven oot o' them halls an' they be returned tae Durins kin as should hae been many years past.

Me kinsman be a Dwarf o' the axe an' armour an' he alsae hae travelled forth tae bring blade an' mail tae Moria an' beyond it.

An' upon the wide roads o' Arda we met ane Tarhiir, a poncy bugger o' an elf that has this ere over sized kitty an' a daft way o' talkin'. Still as a chance companion goes 'e states 'e wishes tae see Moria freed an' trade again flowin' wi' the Goldenwood an' that I can kinda respect even if the bugger is a wind bag an' a half.

Thar ye hae it, now I needs tae stop this 'ere gassin' an' fry me some arse.

Khazgur Splinterstone

Guess I should add to this one!

Hi, I'm Levirdel, but Lev will do fine. This is my first stab at Lotro, and it's becoming a fun one at that!

I'm 27, UK based and most of the time I can be found running one of Eve Online's largest pirate corporations, and have been playing pretty much since launch (a little under 9 years, a fact that you hopefully won't hold against me :P)

I'll be kinda casually gaming in Lotro having never played any other MMO than Eve, using it as a place to chill and relax when I've got spare time, so I should be fairly active. The game has gripped me quite nicely, and you all seem like a really good and friendly bunch!

I'm an Avid Roleplayer and fiction writer in Eve, and I'm looking to expand the roleplaying side of things to Lotro too!

You can probably find me in the Prancing Pony, if I'm not out adventuring somewhere :D

Great to meet you all ^_^

Oh my, time to stop lazing about, dreaming of dresses and dwarves, and maybe introduce myself and my partner-in-crime Pindy (we're pretty interchangeable really). Well, we're hobbit girls from Hobbiton in The Shire. I like singing and personally I think I have a beautiful voice although it's strange how many things seem to fall over and die when I sing. I also play the harp and the lute and enjoy entertaining folks in various inns around the world. No they really aren't pinned to the floor, they're enjoying the music, honestly! In my spare time I make dyes. I could make potions if really needed but quite honestly making dyes is far more important. You can't go out adventuring unless you look good doing it. Fashion is as essential skill for a hobbit minstrel, espeically with all those skinny elf floozies wandering around with their tiny waists and long eyelashes, gazing wistfully at all the handsome dwarves and flaunting themselves, whilst leaning over and ......

*Several hours of ranting later.....*

*Pindy pushes Mimble out of the way*

My turn! I'm Pindy. Guardian and Protector of the Shire, or I will be once I learn which end of the mace you bonk things on the head with. I like exploring, killing orcs and making shiny sets of armour to pose in. I also like talking a lot and wearing pretty dresses. Can never have enough dresses, fact!

((The hobbit behind the hobbits is me, London girl who hates time differences. GMT should rule the world, aren't Americans and Aussies nocturnal anyway? Hehe. Played Lotro since the launch but like Nicolaa, never managed to get higher than level 30 until I met the crazy gang who are The Iron Axes. Love the game and the kinship and looking forward to finally getting to see Moria and beyond. I'm very guilty of pre-ordering every single expansion and never actually playing any of them /sigh. Wow, wall of text. Apologies, but I did say I like to talk :P ))
Need more dresses! Need More dresses!! Need MORE dresses!!! :D

I should probably introduce myself, I suppose.

I'm 29 and based in the Atlanta, GA area, though I spent 6 years living in the UK attending uni. I've been a career pirate, fiction-writer and roleplayer in Eve Online since 2007, and a career villain in City of Heroes since 2008. I tried LotRO for a bit in 2009, but after suffering numerous crashing and file corruption issues, and being generally bored with the game, I left it for a while.

Early in 2011, I landed a brilliant job working for CCP, the company that makes Eve Online, and had to give up openly playing Eve. I decided to give LotRO a shot again, and was pleasantly surprised to find that the starting plotline had been improved; I let myself get hooked and eventually coerced a couple of my friends from Eve (sorry Lev!) to try it as well.

I'm an easygoing player; levelling up isn't a priority except when I discover that I'm too low to explore new areas safely. I'm ALL about the exploration.

I have three characters: Fae (Hunter) and Soknir (Guardian) you know. Vecia is my hobbit Burglar and is in a different kinship with a load of insomniac Euros. Fae is a scholar, so if you need any scrolls, just ask (availability depending on whether I have materials, ofc).

Oh, yes, and I'm a filthy roleplayer in LotRO, as well, though in kin chat I tend to vary on in-character and out-, depending on whether the person/people I'm talking to are in-character at the time.
